I am an Associate Marriage and Family Therapist (AMFT #156727) registered with the California Board of Behavioral Sciences under my legal name, Atefeh Sadat Moricelli, and I practice clinically under the name Atti Moricelli.
As an AMFT, I practice under the supervision of a Licensed Mental Health Professional while completing the required hours for licensure.
-
I am supervised by Dr. Michael Grey, a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (#136636) and clinical supervisor who supports my clinical development and ensures that patients receive ethical, trauma-informed, and culturally responsive care.
-
My therapeutic approach is rooted in depth psychology, which comprises psychodynamic principles and Bowen Family Systems theory, drawing on psychoanalysis.
This perspective enables me to view an individual's challenges not only personally but also within the broader context of their family and societal systems. I help my patients unravel and address deep-rooted issues by bringing unconscious patterns to the forefront, fostering meaningful and lasting change.

A Message from
Atti
I am a dedicated and compassionate Marriage and Family Therapist. I am deeply committed to helping Individuals, Couples, and Families navigate disconnection, transition, and the quest for identity and meaning. My educational journey has been rich and diverse, equipping me with a profound understanding of the human condition and the need for connection.
My journey as a child refugee has profoundly shaped both my perspective and my approach to this work. Having lived through migration, war, loss, and the complexities of acculturative stress, I have a deep, lived understanding of what it means to move between worlds and seek belonging. Growing up in Norway and recently becoming an American citizen, I understand how our experiences shape us, and I am here to help you navigate your own processes of transformation and healing.
As a divorcee raising young children, I am intimately aware of the demands of balancing personal growth, caregiving, and the emotional realities of family life. I understand how change can affect both adults and children, and how resilience is built through presence, consistency, and meaningful connection.
As a therapist and as a human, I understand how early experiences, loss, and marginalization can shape the way we move through the world, often in ways that are felt long before they are named. People come to me carrying unspoken burdens, internalized expectations, and patterns formed in response to survival. You do not have to hold these alone.
I believe that growth is an ongoing process, shaped through our relationship with ourselves and our capacity for reflection. I remain committed to continual learning, self-examination, and evolving as both a therapist and a human.
I hold many identities that shape how I move through this world and navigate this work. I have had to overcome systems that were never designed with me in mind and learn to take up space, be seen, and be heard.
I am a BIPOC woman, a Refugee, a Divorcee, a Mom, a Student, and an Ally, but most importantly,
I am Human.
